BRINGING IN THE SHEAVES

Once upon a time, there lived a farmer in one of the agricultural plains in Nigeria by name Mr. Idike. During one of the planting season, the farmer and his family invested all their resources and effort in planting, as that was their only source of livelihood. The children had to stop school in order to help in the farm work. Day and night, they worked tirelessly at their farm with the hope that during the time of harvest they shall reap abundantly.

Alas tragedy struck when they least expected it; Nigeria witnessed a devastating flood that year. This flood swept away all they had except the cloth they were putting on, their house, farm, livestock, properties were all lost to the flooding. They now lived as refugees in their own country. Oh, it is a pity.

Just as it seemed all hope was lost, God intervened. A certain very rich philanthropist took a liking to the family and decided to put smiles back to their faces. He compensated them for the loss with the sum of N10, 000000 and a house. He also went further to award scholarships to all their children to any level they wish to pursue. This as you know is even far greater than what they could have gotten from their farm.

You might be going through similar experiences in one area of your life. Maybe it is in your studies, you have studied so had and yet success seems far away from you. Maybe it is in your place of work or business that you are sowing in tears. You have used up all your resources in going from one job interview to another. You have kept yourself pure and now you are ready for your future spouse but he or she seems not forthcoming. What is it that you are going through now?
The flood of life might have taken away your harvest however; fear not the Lord will replenish what has been lost a hundred fold. This is your time of joy, believe in his word and it shall be your portion. Amen and Amen!
Remain abundantly Blessed.

O LORD, restore our well-being, just as the streams in the arid south are replenished.
Those who shed tears as they plant will shout for joy when they reap the harvest.
The one who weeps as he walks along, carrying his bag of seed, will certainly come in with a shout of joy, carrying his sheaves of grain.
(Psalm 126:4-6)
